Game farm outside Jeffreys Bay to play host to second edition of JBayX Trail Run
Impala Ranch is situated less than eight kilometres outside Jeffreys Bay. It is a 1000-hectare Game Farm which forms part of the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm.
Originally designed to be a MTB track, with IMBA marked trails the farm and the terrain lends itself perfectly to trail running.
The venue features various trails, including a 5km, 10Km & 20Km marked routes with options for longer or shorter runs. The 5km route is fairly easy, with ±130m of assent and is also suited to first time runners / walkers. The 10km route is of moderate difficulty with ±260m of ascents and some technical downhills and a few fairly steep climbs. The 20Km trail includes a few good technical sections, with ±380m of ascent.
Large herds of Impala, Red Haartebees, Bontebok, Zebra & Kudu roam freely on this game farm and you are sure to stop every now and then for a photo opportunity, with the views changing literally every 500m.
